I've been meaning to try this place & so glad I finally got to it. It's a small middle eastern restaurant/market. While waiting for my food I purchased some groceries. They had a variety of foods, treats, & spices from the Middle East. My food was prepared quickly & everything was really good. I got the mixed platter with salad & hummus. Everything was really flavorful, well seasoned, & tasty. They have more sweets in the restaurant than online, so it's definitely worth it to drop in & shop around while you wait for your food. I also purchased a piece of pistachio cake that was so fire. I love the marketplace items I have too. I was hoping they sold Zataar spice (hence the name) & to my pleasant surprise they had a variety of it.

After having driven by Zaatar numerous times (and making note of it each time I did), I finally came in for a shish tawouk wrap that turned out to be one of the best I'd had in a while (probably since returning from a trip to Israel last fall). The chicken itself was nicely seasoned and the other fillings (hummus, tahini, lettuce, tomato, cabbage, and pickles) complemented it well. The weak link in the chain was the bread, which didn't seem freshly baked and should probably have been warmed up, but the rest of it was good enough that I was still more than satisfied. Other positives were the cleanliness of the store, the friendliness of the workers (owners?), and the shelves of interesting Middle Eastern grocery items that I enjoyed browsing while waiting from my meal. A possible negative was the $11 price for a wrap that wasn't particularly large, but it's 2023 and I honestly have no idea what things are supposed to cost anymore.

Good "fast food" shawarma and falafel. Cooked to order and spiced well. Don't expect a fine dining experience. It has a tiny dining area with a wall of shelves containing Lebanese and Middle Eastern foods. After thinking about it for a long time, I had the appetizer special: Kibbe, Falafel, Hummos, Baba Ganoush, Grape Leaves, etc. The portion was quite large. It would make a big lunch.

I have driven by this restaurant many times but never stopped before. I'm so Happy I did this time. I found this lovely restaurant/shop were the selection of food is very rich and they have a lot Arabic and Middle East products. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner, he was very polite and nice. I wasn't sure what to order, so I played safe and requested the chicken shawarma combo and the kibbis for appetizer. The food was packed nicely and arrived home still hot, the chicken shawarma was delicious, the chicken had lots of flavor and the garlic sauce and hummus salad was also very tasty. I really enjoyed the flavor of the kibbis and the nice chat with the owner while he prepared my food. An overall great experience. Love to discover restaurants and people who share their culture and wonderful cuisine making Miami & Hallandale a more unique place in the world.
